ACCOMPLISHED REGIONAL GOLFERS HEAD TO 2018 BRG GOLF HANOI FESTIVAL
26 September 2018Now in its third year the BRG Golf Hanoi Festival is recognized as a major event for international and domestic golfers. And the Golf Festival’s popularity has put a spotlight on BRG Group as a pioneer in Asian golf.
From October 2 to 4 over 100 international golfers will head to Hanoi to compete with 140 of the city’s best players and enjoy a feast of golf presented by BRG Group. The 3-day festival is an attractive proposition that promotes Vietnamese golf tourism and thanks to the sponsorship from BRG will offer exceptional value to all who participate. The festival is more just another “tournament” as it embodies the word “tour” by offering a real golf vacation for keen players with a competitive edge; all at a time of year when northern Vietnam weather shines and golfing conditions are near perfection.
This year contestants will be able to enjoy Hanoi’s top courses such as the Kings Course at BRG Kings Island Golf Resort and the Legends Course at BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort, both designed by World #1 Golf Course Designer Nicklaus and constructed by BRG Group. The third course on this year’s championship roster is the BRG Ruby Tree Golf Resort; recognized as Vietnam’s “best golf walk” and always popular with regional golf enthusiasts.
Kings Course at BRG Kings Island Golf Resort
Of the three courses the jewel in the crown for players will likely be the Kings Course at Kings Island that was unveiled earlier this year and reviewed by golfers and the press as an “instant classic.” The 19 Hole - yes, 19 hole - masterpiece is the signature craft of Jack Nicklaus II, the eldest son of golf legend Jack Nicklaus and the now President of Nicklaus Design.
Developed as a 7,300 yard championship course the routing is blessed with the most natural forest and lake topography in Hanoi and features a “bonus” 19th Par 3 play-off Hole. This little gem boasts an elevated tee that sits on a rocky waterfall and plays to a choice of an island “Kings” green at 168 yards for men or a peninsula “Queens” green at 108 yards for ladies.
When asked about his new creation Jack Nicklaus II said; “I knew it was a very special site when I first walked it but the finished product has surpassed my expectations. It’s definitely my favorite design to date.”
