Chairwoman of BRG Group, Madame Nguyen Thị Nga, at the World Assembly for Women 2022 (WAW!) affirmed the commitment to promote gender equality and women’s rights in the corporate environment.

This year’s event was the first official event of WAW! after nearly three years interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, seeing the participation and deliveries of remarkable speeches of many world leaders such as Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, Icelandic President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, Director of the UN Women Sima Bahous, Secretary General of the Council of Europe Marija Buric, President of Moldova Maia Sandu and 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winners Denis Mukwege and Nadia Murad.
After the opening session, Madame Nga was one of the speakers at the first discussion panel of WAW! 2022 themed “Improving the gender wage gap”.
“During the past 30 years, BRG Group has built up a team of more than 22,000 employees operating in a variety of fields, especially over 60 per cent of which were women. About 56 per cent of divisional directors and 50 per cent of the executive board were women,” she said.
Initiated in 2014 by the Japanese Government, WAW! is an international event attracting the participation of the UN Women, countries, non-governmental organisations, trade unions and enterprises around the world to raise awareness of gender equalities and women empowerment in the new era.

Within the trip to Japan, she also gave a speech at the annual meeting of the Japan Association for Female Excecutives (JAFE).
Her 15-minute speech stressed that: “Woman are half of the world and the source of happiness. More than ever, women today should be more confident to contribute more to the society. That’s the basis of equality. I believe that is also the portrait of the female leader in the new era because it’s our success that makes the world around us better.”
She also affirmed extremely important contributions of woman to the success of not only BRG Group but also the economic development of every country, in general.
Women needed to be more empowered to not only become business owners but also become leaders in important sectors of the society and the country, Madame Nga highlighted.
