Hanoi, February 11 – In the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu, conducted a tour of BRGMart Pham Ngoc Thach Supermarket in Hanoi, a flagship retail outlet recognised for distributing premium Vietnamese agricultural products alongside high-quality imports directly sourced from Canada.

As one of Vietnam’s leading and most reputable importers and distributors of Canadian agri-food products, the BRGMart supermarket system was honoured to welcome Minister Sidhu for an on-site visit and firsthand retail experience at its Pham Ngoc Thach location.
The visit was part of the Minister’s working trip to Vietnam from February 11 to 12, aimed at deepening bilateral partnerships and strengthening trade cooperation between Canada and Vietnam, particularly in the agriculture and food sectors.
During the tour, Minister Sidhu visited dedicated display areas featuring Canadian agricultural and food products. He commended the range and quality of the offerings and expressed his satisfaction after sampling iconic Canadian specialities, including pure maple syrup, one of Canada’s most cherished traditional products.
Notably, BRGMart currently distributes premium Canadian beef, renowned for its tenderness, natural sweetness, and superior quality, all of which meet stringent food safety and traceability standards.
Minister Sidhu welcomed the growing presence of high-quality Canadian agricultural and food products in Vietnam through BRGMart’s modern and professional retail network. He expressed his optimism for continued collaboration between the two sides, emphasising the importance of expanding product portfolios, stepping up trade promotion activities, and further elevating the profile of Canadian agri-food products in the Vietnamese market.
During the visit, the Minister personally introduced several signature products currently available at BRGMart, including Ambrosia apples, blueberries, strawberries, maple syrup, assorted nutritious nuts, and Canadian beef.
Minister Sidhu also sampled dishes prepared from Canadian agricultural and food products right at the supermarket. He showed his enthusiasm upon tasting a familiar dessert of yogurt topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries, as well as dishes featuring tender Canadian beef, describing the experience as a vivid illustration of the culinary connection between the two nations.
A representative of BRGMart reaffirmed the system’s steadfast commitment to serving as an effective bridge between international suppliers and Vietnamese consumers; strictly adhering to regulations on storage, quality control, and food safety; and strengthening communication and trade promotion efforts to bring more high-quality Canadian products closer to Vietnamese consumers.
